"Speaker Firoux, we are all aware of the current political turmoil that shakes Inquista's democratic system and how, now that parties have been abolished and turned into 'theological blocs', you are no longer considered the leader of the former Christian League, since you are not a member of the College of Bishops. This being said, will you, if given the chance, run for a seat in this College? Thank you." asks Councillor de Berlanga y Prieto (Derecta).

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I am Rodrigo Carmona-Santos, the EPA candidate to Premier Commissioner.

Something is happening in Europe right now. There is a wind of change. A wind that blows along the continents. From Icholasen to Derecta, where I was born, to Gallorum, to Inquista, to Malborya. A wind of renewal coming from as far as Vayinaod, Angleter and the Duxburian Union. And blowing through Spain, Red Croatia and Fremet. Wind from every corner in Europe, which will breathe new life into the Union.

When I was chosen as EPA nominee I made a vow. In our Europe no one will be unseen, no one will be unheard and no one will be abandoned to their fate, be they the least advantaged citizens of our countries or one of our Member States in distress.
These are the values I promise I will uphold. Tolerance, pride in our differences, respect for democracy, cooperation. Those values are shared by all Europeans. My friends, let's work together to bring those values back to the forefront of the Union.

The time has come for someone to take on those responsibilities. I am ready to take on this challenge. Thank you!

Nation's IC Count (must be greater than 0): 46,286
Does your nation meet minimum requirements for nuclear weapon production?: Yes
Reasons for applying: Derecta needs the means to deter aggression. For instance, our Head of State and Government has just been kidnapped, and being the 4th economy in Europe makes us vulnerable to terrorists and rogue nations demanding the payment of ransom.

Reasons for approval: Derecta is a democratic, progressive and modern country, committed to the maintaining of world peace, brotherhood between nations and geopolitical stability. It would never use these weapons as a means to subjugate less developed countries.

Current situation of Her Grace The Most Hon. Cayetana Valcárcel-Aranjuez y Pérez de Viñastre, Duchess of Athenaesios, MS, Prime Minister of the Republic of Derecta

After attending the Spanish National Day events, our Head of State and Government, Her Grace The Most Hon. Cayetana Valcárcel-Aranjuez y Pérez de Viñastre, Duchess of Athenaesios, MS, is currently missing. Cabinet members who travelled with her state that the Prime Minister decided to attend an unofficial event in Ibiza, Spain, hosted by Inquistan socialite Mikaela Kligenberg.

Reports from our embassy in Antequera suggest that, after having been illegally apprehended by the Spanish authorities, violating the principle of diplomatic immunity of top government officials, the Prime Minister was abducted and removed from the premises by what could be an international organised crime organisation.

The Government of the Republic of Derecta wishes to inform any involved party that the detaining of our Head of State and Government constitutes an act of war, which shall be answered proportionately.

3 "Charybdis" class supercarriers, 5 "Scylla" class destroyers, 5"Aegaeon" class frigates, 3 "Thalassa" class cruisers and 5 "Phorcys" class nuclear-powered attack submarines are already sailing towards international waters surrounding Spain. 10 "Athene noctua" class fighters and 4 "Apollo" class strategic bombers, escorted by 5 "Cornucopia" class tankers, shall be periodically flying over the international airspace surrounding Spain ready to attack facilities suspected of holding the Prime Minister. 25,000 troops are on standby ready to be deployed.

This is an official declaration by the Republic of Derecta of its instating of a state of exception. Our allies are advised to provide us with any and all information regarding the Prime Minister's situation. We also inform our allies that the Republic of Derecta is now taking a belligerent position, and any further threat to our national integrity will force us to declare war.

Frenzied by Irene's delicate touch and sultry words, Cayetana strode towards Mikaela, who had somehow managed to evade her.

As she approached her, she rolled up her dress, took off one of her heels and threw it at Mikaela's head, wishing for it to hit her right in the middle of her forehead.

Luckily enough, Cayetana's aim wasn't all that good under the effect of the devil's juice, and instead hit a vase filled with flowers that was beside her, breaking it instantly and drenching Mikaela in a mix of dirty stale water and vomit, as someone had apparently decided to use the vase as a toilet earlier.

Cayetana couldn't have wanted a better outcome.

"YASS! Now Irene will definitely make me her queen consort! At least for tonight..." shouted Cayetana. "Where are you, my love?!?" I have done as you requested! Where is my prize?"

Irene, unsurprisingly, was nowhere to be seen. Cayetana thought she must have gone to the bathroom, to wait for her before indulging their passions. So she walked towards the ladies' room and went in, only to slip in a wet, unused tampon somebody had accidentally dropped on the floor.

Now Cayetana too was soaked in a mixture of disgusting, unidentifiable fluids. She began sobbing, for she knew that Queen Irene would never take her in this state.

*What have I done?!?" she gasped. "I just assaulted a woman to have sex with another and look how it has all ended. I need to get my shit together right at this instant."

Cayetana suddenly noticed how a circle of people formed around what seemed to be two women fighting

"I wonder what all of that is about" she thought. "Finally something interesting!"

The Duchess of Athenaesios approached the mob and found Mikaela shaking her beloved Irene's sculpted shoulders rather vigorously.
"What should I do?" she said to herself. "Forget that I am the head of state and government of one of the economic powers of Europe and punch that whore in the face or do nothing to protect my queen and cowardly let that psycho break Irene's delicate collarbones, as to maintain my dignity?"

Cayetana, having had a glass or eight too many of neat Brandy de Jerez on the rocks hadn't understood that Mikaela was actually asking for Irene's help, and strode towards the Inquistan with an aim to destroy.

"What the actual f*** do YOU think you're doing, you dirty plebe? Don't you know you lumpens are meant to treat us nobles with R E S P E C T? Get your prole hands off her right now!" she shouted with a slurred voice. "Are you okay, my queen? Duchess of Athenaesios, at Your Majesty's service and pleasure."

We would like to propose an amicable amendment to Amendment 12, proposed by the Angleteric Councillor:

      Amendment 12

      Subsection III.I
Councillors appointed or elected to office after the passage of this Bill will take either the following oath or affirmation:
      a) Oath: “Assuming the office of Councillor for [nation of origin], I, [name of Councillor], do solemnly swear that I shall faithfully serve [nation of origin], and abide by the Constitution of the European Union.”
      b) Affirmation: “Assuming the office of Councillor for [nation of origin], I, [name of Councillor], do solemnly affirm that I shall faithfully diligently serve [nation of origin], and abide by the Constitution of the European Union.”

We would argue that the question of faith does not apply to an affirmation, thus explaining why we used the same wording in the current, unamended version of this bill.

Cayetana gave Mikaela the basilisk's look, as she grabbed Irene from her side and took her to the dance-floor. She had barely managed to introduce herself, when the Inquistan came out of nowhere and took the Red Croatian queen away.

"Damn it." she thought. "What's with all the fine couture? I thought the dress code was business formal."

"I have to find the way to attract Irene's attention, and what I'm wearing could only attract an angry mob of fashion designers."

Cayetana approached the bar and asked the waiter if there was anywhere that she could get changed. Gladly, she had thought about the possibility of a state dinner being held at the Spanish royal palace, so she'd brought a stylish and fiery black silk gown with her, just in case.

"All these hoes are wearing their pristine white dresses, as if they were prudish teenagers at a cotillion. But I'm going to be the black pussycat of this party!" she said to herself while trying to get into the dress, bumping her arms and legs against the 2m^2 toilet's walls.

When she came out, though, nobody was to be seen.

"Ladies, where are you? Is this a prank?" gasped Cayetana. "Man I hate clubs. You always get lost."
