The Commission confirms it has received Cllr Emma Granger's Sanction Request on behalf of the governments of the Kingdom of Montenbourg and the Empire of Inimicus.
A further two member states must support this Sanction Request if the Commission is to formally consider it.

United Duchies backs the sanctions request on UNSR -

I can inform you, despite the fact that my government in Port Beauharnais is not in favor of sanctioning and prefers dialogue, that we fully support this request.
The UNSR government can also function freely through the support of specific member states. In this way they contribute to the continued violation of fundamental rights and the destability of the European Union.
Region-wide sanctions against the Union of Nicolezian Socialist Republics must, in this way, also call these countries to order.

I thank all Member States who have supported the Sanction Request against the UNSR. As more than four Member States have supported this Request, the Commission will now deliberate and, if it is decided that region-wide Sanctions should be enacted, it will propose a Sanction Motion to the European Council forthwith.

I must further ask member states who intend to support sanction requests separately to the initial request to use the form indicated above. I have amended it slightly to reflect supporting motions. The Sanction Act prescribes that member states shall make individual, separate requests in support of sanctions, and we must adhere to it.

Detailed grounds for Sanction Request (minimum 100 words if first request, no limit if supporting): The Federation of Istkalen has descended into violence, turmoil, and bloodshed well beyond anything hitherto seen even inside its own borders. Cannibalism and other unprecedented atrocities have taken hold of the entire nation, which recently declared open war against every European nation. It is rumoured Istkalen's military is currently engaging in offensive operations against Reitzmag, which, though not a friend of His Imperial Majesty, deserves European nations' full support. It is the opinion of His Imperial Majesty's Government that there has never been, and possibly never will be, a more appropriate subject for the Premier Commissioner's Sanctioning Act than Istkalen at the present time. The Imperial Government fully supports suspension of Istkalen's European membership, but feels appropriate actions must also be taken against the Istkalen regime. Through region-wide sanctions, applied and enforced on an international, European scale, the Federation of Istkalen may be liberated from its successive, corrupt, and plainly dangerous governments.
Other details/comments (optional): The Empire of Inimicus specifically requests that humanitarian aid and supplies of food, fresh water, and other basic necessities, are not included in any region-wide sanctions packages against Istkalen -

As the Government of Istkalen has declared a State of War on all of Europe, including Ruthund, I see no reason why I can't support these sanctions. Istkalen has poised itself a clear and present threat to the EU's member states and these are one of the few instances I feel it proper for the EU to have a unified policy. With the permission of my government, I also request that sanctions be placed on Istkalen under the provisions written by Sarah Gladwell.

The Republic of Fremet supports the sanction request, as petitioned by Officer Gladwell of Inimicus. It is of utmost importance that the European Union remain a united front in the face of universal threats, both outside and within.
Istkalen surpasses the bar for presenting a threat to this Union, the safety of our memberstates, and the wellbeing of our citizens. Sanctions are not only necessary, but required to adequately address this threat.

We are heavily concerned by the attitude of the government of Istkalen and will defend at any cost our democracy, values of liberty and respect and brotherhood.
For this reason and the un going happenings since the very beginning of Istkalen its membership of our union, it has nothing done except rotten the EU, rotten collaboration and rotten any diplomacy.

I hereby inform you that the required number of Sanction Requests under the European Commission (Sanctioning Powers) Act 2021 has been met, and consequently the Commission will deliberate on appropriate sanctions packages against Istkalen, before proposing said package to the European Council.
