Repeal the Freedom of Navigation Act 2023
-
Youcan't truly believe you can unilaterally affect our trading policy, making free trade agreements no longer free with the imposition of tariffs? You must really want conflict.

All I will say is this: it is extraordinarily revealing that Cllr. Tusk appears to believe that the simple, basic act of ensuring the freedom of commerce is a targeted attack against his nation.
Debate will continue until 23:59 GMT on 11 May 2023.

Council Speaker and Councillor for the Republic of Istkalen -
Only Spain sees this as a biased act against it despite it being entirely neutral as an act. All this act does is secure a consistent standard of what territorial waters are in nautical miles , ensure freedom of transit for ships to transit and ensure all nations territorial waters 12 nm from coast are protected. Standards most countries already have in law in their own negotiations. Heres the truth most nations follow these standards and most nations if there is a strait claim half of it if its less than the 24 nm. Is the act absolutely perfect and what all nations want no, in fact not including EEZ's is a compromise for many nations. The facts Spain needs to listen to is that a majority of those voting by over 2-1 of those voting wanted this act, wanted these standards and wanted stability and consistency in laws and a standard for territorial waters. Europe has passed what it wants , it can't go complaining this is just anti-Spain when the act applies to all nations equally with equal standards and even has forced the change in the Caspian treaties definitions of territorial waters. We will defend the principle of fairness , every nation having a fair territorial water claim and freedom of navigation . We will not let actors bully Europe and other nations just because they have slightly more military as has been threatened in this chamber by some.
