Entries are now closed, and VOTING IS OPEN
You have until 23.59 GMT on June 12th to vote. Please vote by sending your votes via Discord, TG, or DM to both @Angleter and @Inquista in the following format:
12: 10: 8: 7: 6: 5: 4: 3: 2: 1: No points 11th: 12th: 13th: 14th: 15th:
Please rank all entries except your own country's according to that format, with 12 for your favourite, 10 for your second-favourite, &c., right down to 15th place for your least favourite entry. It's important that you rank even the songs you don't want to give any points to, since that allows us to redistribute points in accordance with the rules if an entry has to be disqualified for (usually) failure to vote in time.
Which leads me neatly onto my final point: if you fail to vote before the deadline, your entry may be disqualified and you may be banned from EV 39.

Good evening, Europe! Welcome to EuroVoice 38!
I'm Nick Knowles, and we're live here in Neomantua, in the brand new Michael de Pforttenhelm International Arena, with a musical extravaganza that nobody will be forgetting in a hurry. A whopping SIXTEEN acts from all over Europe and, for the first time in EuroVoice history, beyond, will be singing their hearts out to win your favour.
But before you hear from them, it's time you heard from me. EuroVoice aficionados will remember my entry a few contests back, and here in Angleter, whenever we host this great competition, we like to pay tribute to our EuroVoice heritage. So to open the show, here's, well, myself, with Make You Feel My Love.
-
Thanks, folks. I hope you enjoyed that. Now, it's time for the stars of tonight's show:
Starting us off tonight, it's CZECH SLAVIA, and Anna K, with Co mi za to dáš
Representing NOFOAGA, on their first time in EuroVoice, we've got Yemi Alade, and Bum Bum
INQUISTA are no novices to EuroVoice, and representing them this time, it's Years & Years, with their song All For You
Next up, it's new entrants MENNRIMIAK and Alan Walker, with All Falls Down
There can't be many countries that take EuroVoice more seriously than MALBORYA. Flying their flag tonight, it's Sigrid, with Strangers
We hope that MARNOUA won't be strangers to EV after this, their first entry. It's Els Catarres, and Fins que arribi l'alba
Some of us had to go through Rickrolling the first time. The nation of LEAGIO obviously didn't. Yes, it's Rick Astley, with Never Gonna Give You Up
Returning to EuroVoice, it's FREMET, with Sissel Kyrkjebø, and Shenandoah
After Nick Cave's triumph in EV 37, can this man Keep Angleteric EuroVoice Great? Representing ANGLETER, it's Drake Bell, with I Found A Way
Personally my favourite Haane, it's EASTERN HAANE, and Agnes Obel, with Broken Sleep
I'm not sure which one this is, but it's some form of ICHOLASEN, represented by Sham Rock, singing Tell Me Ma
Completing our Slavic contingent, it's RED CROATIA, who've sent Tereza Kesovija, with her song Moja posljednja i prva ljubavi
And now, for the first time in EV history, a non-European entry! Yes, it's our good friends in CONCH KINGDOM, with U2 and Song For Someone
I've now been asked to read the following statement by the Director of EuroVoice, Peter Montfort. EuroVoice prides itself on its core values of freedom of speech and free expression. We respect all the cultures of Europe, and the fact that some of the music entered into this contest is not to everyone's taste is a strength, not a weakness. It's a testament to the extraordinary diversity of our region. We shall never censor the music, and we shall always leave it up to the audience to be the judge. That is the true EuroVoice spirit. Now, representing, er, er, er, FEYENOORD, it's Infant Annihilator, with Unholy Gravebirth
Now for something completely different. Yes, it's SPAIN, with Morat featuring Aitana, and Presiento
And rounding us off tonight, it's REITZMAG and Marina Kaye, singing The Whole 9
The whole 9, or rather, the whole 16. Yes, those are our entries. It's now time to get your votes in, and while you're doing that, here's some music from a true EuroVoice legend. Yes, for an interval act you'll remember for a very long time, it's the one and only Mr Vennu Mallesh, with his deep take on the state of the world today, in No Happy New Year 2020!
-
Thank you, Vennu. VOTING HAS NOW CLOSED. Please do not vote, or you may still be charged.
While we're counting the results, it's time for a quick chat with the man who brought EuroVoice back to Angleter for only the third time in 38 editions. Yes, that's right, it's Nick Cave, and, of course, the Bad Seeds. What did you make of those performances, Nick?
I thought they were great, Nick. The competition's so strong, I don't know if I can pick a winner. All I know is they'll be better than the bloke who won EV 37.
Ahaha. Now, I know you've got some music for us tonight, but I thought maybe we could switch it up, you put your feet up, I crack the old guitar out, and we make it NICK KNOWLES AND THE BAD SEEDS. How about it?
No.
OK. Well, I hear you've got a special guest with you tonight?
Yes, we're going to sing with Kylie Minogue. A great Angleteric artist, and don't any of you forget that.
I'm sure they won't. So here's our EV 37 winners, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, with Kylie Minogue, singing Where The Wild Roses Grow. Take it away, Nick!
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds ft. Kylie Minogue - Where The Wild Roses Grow
Now, I am told the results are very much in, so it's time to start our tour of the capitals of Europe, and get the results of the votes from the sixteen entrants in tonight's EuroVoice. We are just minutes away from knowing the winners of EuroVoice 38 and, of course, the hosts of EuroVoice 39.
As a quick reminder of the rules, every country or region gives 12 points to its favourite entry, 10 to the next best, then 8, then 7, 6, and all the way down to 1. I'm pleased to say that all entrants are reporting results, and there are no disqualifications from EV 38.
We start by going to Prague, and Antonin in Czech Slavia. Hello, Prague?

And our 12 points for MARNOUA. Good night, Europe, and thank you, Angleter!
Good night, Emilie! So with a quarter of the votes in, there's one point in it at the top between Icholasen and Spain. But it's all to play for, and at this moment, anyone can still be the winners of EuroVoice 38. Plenty of countries just a 12 pointer away from being right up there. And Mennrimiak and Vayinaod, there is still plenty of time for you to rack up some points.
-
We're now heading over to Malborya, and Loren Allred. Are you ready with your votes, Loren, or would you like us to wait a little longer?

-

-
Now we're at the halfway stage, let's take a closer look at the leaderboard.
Spain in the lead there, 14 points ahead of Icholasen. There's a bit of a gap there to Red Croatia in third, but anyone could string together a run of high points and put themselves right back in the race.
Mennrimiak got their first points from Malborya, and now they're right up there in mid-table; so Vayinaod, there's hope for you guys yet.
