I want to make a few things clearer: I proposed an emergency "government" - an emergency executive, let's put it that way now - and not specifically a Commission in order to allow for flexibility. I simply do not think it is wise to fix ourselves to the idea of a three-member executive, especially one that would hold such an important role - it may be necessary, for example, for an emergency administration to have four or five members, with overlapping portfolios, so that if one or two goes missing there are still others to perform the necessary duties, or, conversely, for it to have only one, to prevent gridlock.

In terms of my own, more concrete proposals for reform - reform which I believe, again, should be discussed after the resolution of the current crisis, whether within a convention or elsewhere - let me list them here:

The positions of Premier and Internal Affairs Commissioners shall be merged into a single, one-member Presidency, which will hold the power of the executive, the full power of the purse - that is, the power to create a budget that goes into effect if not vetoed by an independent motion that passes the European Council with a simple majority - the power of the suspensive veto, and the power to refer newly passed bills to the European Court of Justice to determine their constitutionality.

The President shall be elected by the Council for a term of one year, renewable indefinitely. Presidents may be ousted by a constructive vote-of-no-confidence, which may be initiated by any Councillor.

Regular legislation, and other resolutions, excluding those of impeachment, shall pass the Council so long as there does not exist a majority against it. Votes-of-no-confidence shall fail so long as there does not exist a majority against the sitting President; for votes of confidence, vice-versa.

The threshold for impeachment shall be lowered to 3/5 of Councillors present.

On most other points, I agree with Cllr. Čikarová.

The three were surprised to be arrested given their lack of links to core functions of the company so agreed to the questioning as they would have nothing to give. Roscoes would surely do someting once they heard about the arrest. James and Amaziah would continue to attend the festival with the Llunas-Roberts their good friends.

      Brickston

"That damned Labour Party. Always winning the Czebrik regions. This might change the status quo", President Lavoie thought to himself, while the Minister for Industrial Development, Haufer, was sitting next to him in the special edition presidential edition automobile, a true Briekish quality Mercedes Venedig 1986, modified for the President himself.

"Sad. Czechs are nationalising everything", remarked Haufer, "I always liked Czech beer".

"That's the first thing you thought of when you entered the car?" questioned Lavoie, who was laughing at the idea of Haufer having thought of that first.

"Well, in all seriousness, no. It just seems a bit hastily done. Just when I thought we could get them to liberalise like us, they did the polar opposite."

"I'm sure we can think of a reasonable deal," Lavoie said, now staring out of the window.

"I sure hope so," Haufer wished. "Won't this just hurt their FDI?"

"We run Brickston, not Czech Slavia. So we should try to ensure that we get a good deal which allows us to tap into the Czech markets."

"I don't think that's going to happen. When they say they're nationalising, they'll nationalise everything."

"You needn't worry. We've had talks over the phone. I'm quite sure we can let existing businesses stay in Czech Slavia at the very least."

"Just make sure they aren't commies."

To this, President Lavoie gave a very loud sigh.

They then approached the Prague Castle along with the fleet of security surrounding them.

"Poor guy, and yet he had the voice,.. well you know, if he practiced it a little, but I had no idea performing would make him so upset,.. still, where would we be if everybody left when they become little uncomfortable? I mean, can you imagine what would happen if you just,.. gave up and run away from your responsibilities? All of us have the duty to do our part and constantly improve ourselves. I wouldn't tolerate such desertion. Cowardice and defeatism must be eliminated." Reiserová started resumed conversation with the Emperor about his Consul, before derailing and talking more to herself, repeating phrases she learned, mixed with inspirational wisdom she saw shared on Instagram and Facebook. After these words her eyes once again connected with those of the Emperor, "But who am I to give advice to you, you obviously know what you are doing and what must be done. And your speech was really great, I am sure the school will take you up on the offer to visit the Empire!"

When the duo finally got back to the President's office in the Prague Castle , Reiserová was quite shocked to find Strathclyde already there, waiting for them, "Wait how did you,... who let you in? No, nevermind." she then turned to Artabanos, "You can't have one thing working, how could they have let another person into my office without my explicit consent?" she said before fixing another glass of whiskey for her guests. Before sitting down and listing in her papers.

"So you'd want us to lower our regulation standards? Well, you know, that is a complicated manner. But, I will do the following, and please consider it a show of our goodwill, you know, we aren't expecting anything in return, even if Inimican businesses won't increase their presence on our market what I'll say will apply. We will lower corporate taxes by 2,5% to help you cover the burden of obtaining permits. And we would be interested in hearing the opinions of foreign investors after they had time to evaluate the effects of the lower taxes, perhaps then we could agree on amending our regulations, to accomodate for you. But it would be up to you to get in contact with businesses from other states, you know the Reitzmic, the Inquistans, the British, the Duchians, the Spanish, the Duxburians.... well everybody. Could you do that for us? That is what we would like to receive in return." she took her eyes from the papers and placed them on a calendar on her table, moving her finger through the days. "Let's say we could arrange for this meeting between the government and foreign-based companies, including of course the Foundation in the first half of April?"

"There is one more thing." Reiserová said while relaxing in her chair, and connecting her hands together, "*My government is of the opinion that the market in the United Duchies is highly unstable, and with a, you know, proper aggressive approach it could collapse and become dependant on foreign imports. So if the Foundation would be up for it, you could start opening stores in smaller municipalities, buying off local competition and supply our products at cheaper prices to the Duchian populace.... particularly our agricultural goods, denying Duchian farmers places where to sell off their products and liquidating them," she took a long sip, before continuing in a lower tone, as if embarrassed by what she is proposing, "then the Foundation could buy off their farmlands and turn them to something else, as your heart would desire. Of course our farming collectives would help you in covering the initial costs of this operation." she smiled nervously, the plan wasn't hers, but she made sure that the Minister of Agriculture Dohnal, whose motto was that the three areas requiring state support the most was agriculture, fisheries and traditional family, wouldn't spend too much time with the Emperor.

"And you know, perhaps we could also contact our other friends, like Silas from Inquista... by the way what impression do you have of him? I've heard so much nasty stuff, but it just seems like jealous gossip to me, he has always been really polite and sweet to me..... oh, never mind, so, what do you think?"

"I slept quite well actually! It was definitely refreshing, just as this breakfast." Reiserová responded to Silas Kligenberg, before pausing from eating for a moment, putting her spoon into the bowl. "Hey, I completely forgot to ask you,.. but, you know, right now the Democratic Republic requires some money. Well, a lot of money actually and so our Minister of Finance recommended to me to make the following offer to you:" Reiserová kept her eyes pointed at her bowl, avoiding Silas' eyes until this point in her speech. But after finishing this part, she paused again took a deep breath and looked Silas in the eyes again.

"Perhaps you and Mikaela could force an economic assistance... and not a small one, from the budget of the Most Blessed State to the Democratic Republic through the College of Bishops. Then the Democratic Republic would allocate portion of the money we get through the assistance directly to the Kligenberg Industries, and possibly to some other Bishops if necessary, you would have to, you know, inform me about that. Officialy we would allocate the money to the Kligenberg Industries to help you develop your assets in the Democratic Republic. Now of course we would be.... and I would be happy if you really used part of this money to develop your assets in the Democratic Republic.... but there would be no conditions. You could use all of it as you see appropriate..... For our part I can ensure you that we would use our portion only for the most noble of goals."

Reiserová hated that she had to offer Silas a bribe and she said the last sentence mostly to reassure herself that she is doing the correct thing, rather than to convince Silas. "You should think about that. Call me in the evening to tell me if you agreed. As for the size of the portion allocated to you, I am willing to accept your demands.... and who knows, maybe then you'll be able to buy a yacht for guests so next time we don't have to share one with your cousin." the President for Life smiled slightly at Silas before finishing her breakfast and heading over to dress herself appropriately and then to Mikaela to continue their adventures.

The President for Life was enthusiastic about the Archbishop's proposal to make it big in Hollywood and was also impressed by her quick thinking and problem solving. Although it would be seen as problematic by the leadership of the Socialist Republican Party and the Democratic Republic of Czech Slavia, she was the party leader and the President, not them, and so she decided that it is time for her to make a guest appearance in a film. Her enthusiasm however dropped when she saw to what character she is supposed to voice. She smiled at Mikaela to placate her excitement with the characters and turned towards the director of the film, "Umm, excuse me? I am supposed to voice that little yellow minion? You think the President of the Democratic Republic of Czech Slavia is a minion who serves some villain? Unbelivable! And do you know what they are called in Czech? Mimoni, which means Airheads. Are you suggesting that the Czech people elected an airhead as their President? I will contact Chancellor Albanese about this diplomatic insult if I do not voice some good character who is not a minion."

After letting the director know about her issues with the film, the President for Life once again turned to Mikaela, "You know if I wasn't a Head of State I wouldn't mind, but now I have to be cautious about who I play or voice. Plus, we can't show the villains winning in the end in Czech Slavia, what message would that send to our kids, so we will have to alter the ending. But at the same time, we also can't show the President for Life loosing, you know? So, I can't be a minion!" she shook her head. Finally after causing a scene in the studio, after which she was offered a role of a flight attendant, and finally a role of a pilot, after she complained and threatened informing Chancellor Albanese yet again. Satisfied with the symbolism of a pilot flying the entire plane to its destination safely, she accepted this role.

While not a singer, Reiserová wasn't completely inexperienced with singing, having sung in some of her earlier movies, so providing a Czech cover to a song of a foreign artist, a standart process in creating Czech pop music, wasn't something she was worried about and indeed she happily sang her version of the song.

Satisfied with her performance she invited the Archbishop for a swim in the sea a short distance from Los Angeles, utilizing the hotter weather in California than in her homeland. After the two women were transported to the beach and laid down their towels Reiserová sat down and looked at the sea. "You know, it will be really hard finding somebody for Rikkalek since we don't know anything about him. We really have to invite him somewhere and let him pick the program of the day, so we can observe and utilize that knowledge later."

After enjoying some time relaxing on the beach and swimming in the sea Reiserová suggested that they make fire and grill some food there and encouraged the Inquistan Archbishop to start assembling sticks for the fire.

"Well what can I say, you sure got me there Simon." the President for Life shrugged her shoulders and smiled at Bridges's comments about being forced to sign the apology and thus the apology lacking a soul. "We'll just try to endure it."

She took the document from the Reitzmic Prime Minister as he handed it to her and nodded about his remark about a smily face. "Being grateful is so important for, you know, pretty much everything in life, all the nice moments, all the hardships and challenges, for your family and friends. That is something I try to live by and a message that I try to get out there." she looked back at her guest "Tell me, what are you grateful for today?... You know, since you did what is right and we now don't have to live in uncertainty anymore, perhaps the fact that I will not allow any foreign military base to be established in the territory of the Democratic Republic will give you another reason to be happy for today. Oh, and I am sincere." she put her left hand on her chest.

"Now then, I am ready to sign an agreement on the cultural, academic and scientific partnership... and perhaps we could get an agreement on the Democratic Republic increasing its supply of iron into the Kingdom,... perhaps, you know, in exchange of your government encouraging Reitzmic private companies to invest into the development of mining technologies?"

She took a sip of her coffee and wished she could have been on a comfortable sofa on which she could also put her legs, instead of the less comfortable office chair. "So, have you given any thought to the name of your planned baby? Oh and since we are on the subject of names... I told you you can call me by my first name, you don't have to refer to me as Ms. Reiserová, Mr. Bridges." she smiled at the Prime Minister.

The ENAA has decided in a 4-0 vote to like totally grant the Democratic Republic of Czech Slavia a limited nuclear weapons license. The Democratic Republic of Czech Slavia shall be limited to 200 nuclear warheads, and may apply in one year, or 365 days from now to request an increase in its warhead amount.

You guys, this decision was soooo tricky. With the Recognition of the Union of Nicoleizian Socialist Republics, it was decided that the Korojaunu of the Union of Nicoleizian Socialist Republics would contribute to the ENAA decision-making process. Regardless if this decision is seen as agreeable or not, all other present ENAA members decided to unanimously grant the nuclear weapons license, which means the outcome would be like totally the same anyway.

The ENAA noted that the Democratic Republic of Czech Slavia is a stable country that respects international norms and customs, and carries itself with tact and good diplomacy on the international stage. Some members felt that the Democratic Republic was perhaps too new to the European Union to obtain a license, but this fact wasn't seen as too #problematic considering how well the Democratic Republic has proven itself in the last 2+ years.

Leo McKulsky took the oppurtunity to stand up and do a speech on behalf of his party He started by saying "As you may know we come from a land of royalty and unfairness and of business. I praise the SRP because it has 100 years of opposing that , 100 years of helping parties and comrades in need throughout Europe. May the party for 100 more years advance socialism with much of that under the leadertshhip of the wise Comrade Reiserová's. Comrade Reiserová heres to 100 more years of the peoples reign and many more years under your wise guidance. May the cappitalist pigs remain unwelcome in Czechslavia and lose the battle."

Then Róise Ní Fiannachta MacLuinge stood up "I want to thank the SRP for their influence and help with the CSP over the years. We very much see the party as our brother and you have looked after us and the legacy of socialism and the workers paradise in the Czech Republic well but may I say do not waiver now, the greatness of the SRP has always been its unity against hoardes of rich and bourgeoisie , that is you strength and legacy of 100 years do not let the cappitalist hoardes in easily now to steal all that progress and the power of the worker.

I am confident with the fine comrade Reiserová you can resist the cappitalist pigs in this economic war we are in as nations and as parties and as people of socialist nations. Long may may Reiserová reign and long may she be the bane of the bourgeoisie and the enemies of the people like billionaires and millionaires. Long may she keep equality of the people in the nation in unity with true socialists worldwide."

On the Applications from the United Duchies

To the attention of the government of the United Duchies:

The European Commission has reached a decision on the following two applications:

The subsidy request for the Cycle Super Highway System has been denied by a 3-0 vote, as the proposed project is seen as expensive and unlikely to create proportional benefit.

In regards to the subsidy request for the Solar Retrofit Program: the European Commission, in light of the cost and relative luxury of the proposed project, proposes, by 3-0 vote, a counter-offer of a single low-interest loan of 10 billion euros, at 1.8% interest and to be repaid in 15 years.

Wishing you continued and future happiness,

      Akem Linek

      28th of October
      Prague Castle

"Can you stop scratching your legs? You will drop the candles and besides, it doesn't look appropriate for a Minister." Reiserová complained, as she and Karel Šín approached the cabinet meeting room in the Castle approximately fifteen minutes after midnight.

"Well I am sorry, but you know, I told you the material is not comfortable." Šín responded in a weak voice. He felt like he was forced to wear a lot of silly outfits, during his active acting career, especially for 'Jersey' where he was forced to sport battered polo-shirts and shorts of various colour. But no outfit he ever wore seemed to him as silly as the white and red tunic, red belt and white pants he had on right now, an exact copy of the clothes Slavomír wore, safe for Šín's expensive formal shoes. If it was up to him, he would never put such clothes on his body, but the President urged him, and he knew better than to try and resist her. Around his neck was also a necklace with a symbol of Veles, god of the underworld and music among other things. The neclace was gifted to the Minister by Reiserová as she claimed that Czech Slavia lost previous Eurovoice contests, due to lacking a blessing from Veles.

"Oh I am so exited Karel, do you think the rest of the Cabinet will be able to see the truth immediately? Imagine how silly they will feel for ignoring the human soul up to now! But I was guilty of that too. Until now." Reiserová chatted exitedly, her still bare feet hitting the ground, "I actually have to use the restroom, would you please enter the room first and set up the candles for me? Thank you!", she waited for Šín to confirm that he will do just that before she left for the restroom.

Šín made sure to put his sunglasses back on, before opening the door to the conference room. Usually, he wore them, because he thought it made him look cool, but in this very moment, he just wanted to hide his eyes to feel a bit less shame about his clothes. Of course as soon as he opened the door, all the eyes of the other members of the Cabinet were on him, as all talk in the room died. Finally, Minister of the Environment Natálie Imberová started speaking, "Were you practicing for a play and forgot to change Karel?" out of the entire Cabinet who usually looked down on Šín, Imberová was perhaps the friendliset to him, safe for the President herself.

Šín simply smirked, "I am afraid our Wise Leader has found faith, you will see." he simply responded as he started putting candles on the table and lighting them up.

"Oh this is horrible!" Minister of Foreign Affairs Jasmína Dlouhá exclaimed after few confused looks, to which Minister of Education Weisser nodded.

"We will have to make sure nobody learns of this." added Minister of Regional Development Lubomír Mejzlík.

"I hope she at least joined the Hussites, and not the Catholics." Minister of Finance Heřman Švestka chuckled.

"I am sure in few minutes, you will be wishing it was the Catholics Heřman." Šín remarked simply as he turned off the electric lights and sat down, to much complaining of the rest of the Cabinet, who did not know why they were summoned, and most of them thought of their comfortable beds, waiting for them.

Then the door opened and in walked Reiserová herself, with Ministers looking puzzled about her dress, which matched the one Šín was wearing. Before she even sat down, she made sure to remove Šín's sunglasses from his eyes, she always hated when he wore them indoors, but now she could not tolerate this accessory to corrupt the outfit of the Rodnovery.

"Comrade President, if I may." Minister of Industry and Trade Květoslav Musil took the floor as soon as Reiserová seated down, feeling that he knew what the meeting was to be about. "Indeed the numbers have been verified and both Škoda and Tatra vehicle manufacturers reported record sales in the third quarter of the year, with the number only expected to increase in the current quarter and in certain location their cars became a favorite affordable alternative to the bigger competitors." Minister of Agriculture Pavel Dohnal slightly sighted at Musil words, considering them an attack on the funding that was dedicated to fishing and agriculture each year in the budget.

"Oh, well, that is wonderful! Thank you Květoslav. But, you know, I did not come to talk about cars, I came to remind us of a more important topic, the human soul!" Excitement did not leave Reiserová's voice as she stood up from her chair, "Comrades, I have realized for how long our administration has ignored the development of people's spirituality, to understanding of the world and I could not be idle any longer, this has to change. I realized that we, as a nation, as Slavs, are the children of the gods and in order to become cosmic beings we have to rediscover the ancient wisdom of our ancestors, to, you know, achieve this, we must..." she could not finish the sentence as she was interrupted.

"Albína... are you feeling... well?" Minister Švestka whispered as the other members of the cabinet looked at their President with eyes wide opened in shock, safe for Karel Šín who was smirking and at least playing with his sunglasses.

"Comrade Minister! Do not interrupt me! The positive aura can not flourish if you keep emitting negative energy, which prevents the growth of the soul!" Reiserová raised her voice, before calming down, "I have had many enlightening talks with an important and knowledgeable person, and he helped me see the truth. I realized that our ancestors understood the world and human spirit better than current society does, due to their connection to the Gods, which was separated by the arrival of Christianity and I have decided to revive this connection with our Gods. Comrades I ask you to join the Rodnovery together with me." now the room was completely silent.

"Rodnovery? Aren't they mostly led by neofascists and antisemites?" the Minister of interion Bohumila Dvořáková finally asked, unsure if she heard the President properly.

"Well, you know, there have been some controversial figures associated with the movement... but those people aren't really interested in the uplifting of the spirit and our connection to the Gods..." Reiserová's voice got a bit more shaky, "But the truly faithful will cleanse the movement of all the snakes, which is why... you will redirect some of the StB agents from the anti-corruption campaign towards the Rodnovery movement to help cleanse it. Find, you know, dirt on these problematic individuals so they can be driven away from the movement so it can become fully focused on the worship of the Goddess." the President received no response.

"Furthermore," she cleared her throat, "Tomorrow apart from the celebration of our independence a festival of the goddess Mokosh will be held and I will have her statue erected in front of the Castle, I expect all of you to attend, I have had suiting outfits made for all of you." she paused for a second, "Except for you comrade Weisser, you are associated with the League of the Militant Godless, you are not Slavic and you will be resigning soon so it would not seem right. But you will inform the League that they have been disbanded. The Party will vote to disband them at around 10 AM today. And all the atheist propaganda will also be stopped from today"

"Disbanded? but Comrade President the League,.." Weisser could not believe his ears, but he got interrupted before he could finish.

"Has served its historic purpose in helping to get the nation from the sway of the foreign god. Now it has no purpose and it will be disbanded." the President for Life raised her voice again, before smiling at her Cabinet, "Comrades, will you join me in the Movement? Will you help me guide the nation towards the light of Dazhbog?"

"Of course Albína we are with you!" shouted Minister of Health Zuzana Saková, always seeking to appease her President. Soon she was joined with shouts of the other Ministers, swearing their loyalty to the Pantheon and thanking Reiserová for "finally allowing us to see the truth!"

Satisfied the President for Life nodded several times, "Excellent, I knew you would understand! Alright people I am a bit tired now, you will find your outfits just outside the door. See you all at 11 AM tomorrow in front of the Castle, I can't wait to see the festival!" with a wide smile, Reiseroáva turned around and finally left the room, leaving her Cabinet alone as she went ot her private room to get some sleep.

"She called us here at this time just to tell us this?" Saková asked once they were alone.

"I am afraid our Genius Leader has unfortunately lost touch with reality." Dohnal remarked.

"And we will all suffer for it, can you imagine us standing in public, dressed in these ridiculous clothes while we give offerings to a statue and dance in circles? Nobody will take us seriously but if we say that our Wise Leader is insane our government will end and counterrevolution will triumph." added Mejzlík.

"Why was she even chosen to be the candidate of the Party in the first place? Well I know that, but why was she entrusted with the Extraordinary Court before that? She always seemed a bit unwell..." asked Musil.

"I heard she was just kind of there, when Šedivý and Vicanová were dividing the country among themselves and they had to assign something to Albína, so they gave her the Court, as they only knew that she was a mother and therefore just. Then they both ended in front of the Court and suddenly Albína was the only eligible candidate for the President left. But I do know she used to be fairly organized in the trade union before all that." Dohnal, as a veteran establishemnt figure shrugged his shoulders, "Regardless, we will overcome."

"Comrades, do you realize what this means? By 11 AM we will need to fill the space before the Castle with people! If nobody shows up it would look really bad for the President and for us. I will quickly contact the heads of the regional Party branches to send some members, but of course we will also have to find the appropriate clothes for them..." Mejzlík reminded the rest as Šín chuckled at the scene, feeling a little less silly about himself now.

Naturally, none of this bothered Reiserová herself, as arrived in her private rooms, took a quick shower and laid her head on a comfortable pillow, full of excitement about the festival and happy thought about the, in her eyes, positive change she just made.

Farewell address by the Premier Commissioner Sofie Čikarová

Dearest friends, brothers and sisters, Europeans, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support you have given me during my two terms as the Premier Commissioner. Eight months ago I was elected for the first time, as a loyal pupil of the Architect of Socialism, the President for Life of my home country, with the goal to build foundations for a different, more just Europe and I am happy to say much has been achieved in this regard. The European Development Agency was established, a new budget was passed, legislation ensuring basic rights of the workers was adopted, sovereignty of all nations was finally respected, contributing to peaceful conclusions of conflicts. But the changes we accomplished couldn't have never been done without your support.

I would like to use this opportunity to wish the new Commissioners good luck in performing their duties. I hope that they will recognize the importance of the laid foundations, and that they won't attempt to uproot them, but will instead continue building upon them for the benefit of the people. My thanks as always goes to those who keep their interest in the European affairs and went to vote, if they had the opportunity to do so.

For the future Commissioners, I hope they realize that much thought will have to be given to future budget, past experiences have shown us that perhaps the time is right to increase the spending, provided it is wisely used. Despite the fact that the corporate Councillors have attempted to sabotage possible changes to the future budgets by lowering the member states contributions during my term I urge all the future Commissioners to be bold in fulfilling their duties, not back down to pressure and carefully consider the future of Europe when drawing up a new budget.

As I said earlier I don't intend to run for a position within a Commission in the future, I believe that new people deserve the opportunity to continue working towards a just Europe upon the foundations we have laid. I am looking forward to meeting with you and listening to you, as I have done during my campaigns, but this time not as a candidate, not as a Premier Commissioner, but as your friend.

Despite the end of my second term we must strive maintain the incredible unity you have shown during the last eight months, because the fight continues.

      Yours Sofie Čikarová :-)
