I vote FOR the motion and I would, with permission from the Speaker of course, like for it to be on the record that I might speak for the Council in that we applaud the reactions that the many member-states have been making, particularly the current governments in Leagio, Spain, and recently Ruthund in working towards getting their citizenry trapped in the Union of Syndicates out safely. These times are uncertain as many governments are concerned about the conditions of those citizens trapped and the current government that is holding them has not been willing to even give out proof of the fact that they are stating that extraction or evacuation of them is impossible.

I just received word from my government that diplomatic relations between Ruthund and the Union of Syndicates have broken down due to their refusal to cooperate with Kazmurbirha, let alone communication in any direct capacity to the Riksroja. Nineteen Ruthens are either missing or in custody in the Union of Syndicates and since no effort was made by the Syndicate government to transfer these Ruthens into friendly territory, we have no choice but the conclude that this is an act of kidnaping and imprisonment. The Ruthenish government shall not stand by idly while its people are treated in a fashion. I have the liberty to tell you know that the Ruthenish state has frozen all Syndicate assets found in Ruthund as well as an embargo on all economic institutions and persons originating from the UoS. A public statement will be released by the Riksroja later today.
Mr. Speaker, I would normally be bound by the duties of my nation to remain neutral on this matter and abstain. But due to the circumstances that have arisen, I vote FOR this motion.

I am bound by the Constitution of the European Union to allow ample time for memberstates to vote. In Accordance with Article II §III.IV of the Constitution of the European Union.
Councillors only then vote on the proposal for 72 hours. The proposal is to be voted on in its whole form and may not be changed during the voting phase. Each vote must be announced in public and is permanent once cast. Proposals requiring a simple majority to pass must garner 55% approval of those present. Proposals requiring a super-majority to pass must garner 75% approval of those present.
I must allow ample time, 72 hours, for Councilors to vote in order for the motion to be valid. There exists no emergency mechanism to rush through council proceedings, as is outlined in Article II §IV.II of the Constitution of the European Union:
The Speaker may call the opening and closing of debating and voting phases in the European Council, set what constitutes a valid vote in accordance with the Constitution, and count the votes when a voting phase has ended. The Speaker may extend Council proceedings if deemed suitable, however, no phase of the legislative process may be shortened and this power cannot be delegated.
This protects all of us from a Speaker that may wish to abuse their own powers and the broad powers of the Council to push through a sullied legislative agenda, as councilors are not always available to vote 24/7.
As such, we must wait until the prescribed time passes so that the Constitution and rights of memberstates are respected.

I vote AGAINST this motion. I understand that the situation in the Syndicates has stabilised somewhat since this debate began, to the extent that it is recommencing evacuation of foreign citizens. Especially after that, I don't think there's anything we can or should discuss that should be kept away from the public.

I can tell you 3,349 reasons why from the Duchies including sadly my son. Left wing terrorism is a threat and a disgrace , killing kids , women and children and those responsible for the tragedies throughout Europe deserve to see justice either at the gun or through the courts. However it is done we must bring these terrorists to justice. We are at a crossroads terror throughout Europe and for citizens of UoS. I propose a civillian intervention and support for the UoS government to fight extremists if they are on our side they should accept, if this fails then sadly we must be prepared to strike militarily jointly and build a new nation there a nation free from extremism and where all citizens are free from terror.The victims including my sons deserve justice.

As I said, it seems to me that the government in the Syndicates is reasserting its authority without the need for foreign intervention, and the situation is calming down. I think it would be good, however, if the Syndicates authorities could work with the government of the Duchies, and other authorities where appropriate, to bring the terrorists to justice. But we're past the stage where military intervention was an idea worth discussing.

I, myself, am a left-winger and considered radical in my own country. Yet I recognize what happened in the Union of Syndicates was nothing less than an act of terror on the various citizens of Europe, be it due to the gross negligence of the government, its own complicity, or even its collusion with extremists. There is nothing more extreme than allowing the military shooting anyone it pleases in a democratic society, no matter how noble one claims it to be. Until all threats from the Union of Syndicates is removed, I think intervention is necessary because the Syndicate government cannot be trusted to be effective in its removal.
